People often think that just because some card comes from some set, it must be worth a fortune. Lucky for us, some sellers actually let the market dictate final values. This is one of those situations. Over the past month, these two relatively significant Ryan Leaf cards sold at auction and brought end prices that represent accurate current market values. The final sale prices support the notion that just because you think it’s valuable doesn’t mean it is valuable. Now, I understand that value is relative to the holder of the item, but in relative comparison to the end prices of some of this stuff, these are both considered very reasonable end prices.
The following are examples of these cards that I own. With a little effort, you can really make these cards stand out. All it takes is a mid-tier scanner and some Photoshop know-how, and you’re off to some mouth-watering final products. Not only do I think these cards scan really well, but I also like that their serial numbers are inverses of each other – 24 and 42, which is fitting. On a side note, I didn’t pay more than $50 for either of these cards, but then again I bought them long before people cared as much as they do today. Times change and so do final values.
