1999 Topps Chrome Early Road to the Hall is a 10-card set featuring players with 10 years or less in the Majors who were poised to eventually be Hall of Famers. Most of the players featured accomplished this. This is a really nice set with a great design, but definitely a staple of the era. The incorporation of the entry way, the baseball bats, and the baseballs keep the design simple but thematic. Issued was a base and much rarer refractor parallel set. I can remember learning about this set and being pretty impressed with the refractors given their stated print run of just 100. The darker colors on this design make the refractors appear warm and vibrant; they’re just really nice on the eyes, especially when scanned correctly.
