For a while there, PSA submission prices were in the stratosphere. This often happens when there’s a massive backlog and the need for catching up is mission-critical. With new management, they’ve been hard at work getting caught up and are now offering lower submission fees. Pricing is published on the PSA website.1 Here’s how I interpret it:
Economy Pricing:
- $22/card for cards with a declared value between $0-199
- $30/card for cards with a declared value between $200-499
- $50/card for cards with a declared value between $500-999
- $100/card for cards with a declared value between $1000-1499
- $150/card for cards with a declared value between $1500-2499
- $300/card for cards with a declared value between $2500-4999
- $600/card for cards with a declared value between $5000-9999
Look for Specials throughout the year and around big show times.
At $30/card for cards with a declared value of $499 or less, how’s this going to impact all the new grading companies that came out of the woodwork during the pandemic? The outcome is likely as predictable as the thought is interesting.
Premium Pricing:
- $1000/card for cards with a declared value between $10,000-24,999
- $2000/card for cards with a declared value between $25,000-49,999
- $3000/card for cards with a declared value between $50,000-99,999
- $5000/card for cards with a declared value between $100,000-249,999
- $10,000/card for cards with a declared value of $250,000 and up
