2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary is a 700-card set with up to 29 unique parallels. The set commemorates the 1952 Topps design, which some consider to be a paramount hobby classic. Collectors have a chance to pull another reprinted Chrome Refractor SP of the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card. In terms of design, the on-card autographs work well here because they’re placed in the same location as the facsimile signatures found on the original set. The 1952 Topps commemoration concept has been done many times before and mostly with a modern feel. Superfractors always look awesome, but they’re particularly interesting here. The borders really shine and the technology looks great with this design. While the base cards feature the standard Topps Chrome feel, the parallels in this set are all very attractive. I especially like the Aqua Wave Refractors, but I’ve seen several other designs that look amazing. 2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary is an excellent issue and with 700 cards, there’s plenty to chase.
