2014 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autographs is a 128-card set. Each card in the set can be found in 14 different parallels and four printing plates, which has become a standard thing with Bowman issues. We get a whole bunch of beautiful parallels and plates. I like the variety and that I can choose how much I want to spend to get an example of a card in the set. This is an obvious statement, of course, but what I’m talking about is which parallel I want to buy. I once asked a collector that if he chases modern, which parallel he thought was a good middle-ground, and he said the blue refractor, which I thought was a fair answer. They’re sort of a good mid-level parallel that’s always desirable. Bigger spenders will chase the gold refractor with anything better being cherries, but highly unlikely given the very small print runs as you go down the list. Major notables include Jose Abreu, Kris Bryant, and Mookie Betts. Minor notables include Julio Urias, Jesse Winker, and Mark Appel.

Excellent overview. I happen to have built the complete set of Prospect Autographs from Bowman Chrome (74). Unfortunately, most of the notables came out of Bowman (Mookie Betts, Kris Bryant, Jose Abreu) and I don’t have those. Jose Ramirez is in Bowman Chrome, but unfortunately this is not the notable Cleveland All-Star, but rather the mostly unknown Yankees pitching prospect of the same name. There is also one card in Bowman Chrome that is missing from your checklist–Dillon Overton BCAP-DO from the Oakland Athletics. I have this one as part of my set. So, perhaps the master set is 128-cards. Nevertheless, I appreciate this review of what has become a mostly forgotten set once the Kris Bryant hoopla wore off.
