2011 Bowman Sterling is a 50-card hobby-exclusive set. Cards were issued 5 cards per pack and 6 packs per box. 7 parallels and the standard run of printing plates exist for each card. The key rookies in this set are Freddie Freeman, Paul Goldschmidt, and Mike Trout. I recall several other names in the set as being big prospects in 2011, but most didn’t live up to expectations and many have since retired. Sealed boxes have become quite rare.
Regarding the Purple Refractors:
While the 2010 Bowman Sterling Purple Refractors were all produced as reverse negatives, they were never corrected. In 2011, the same issue occurred, but they were corrected, which means you can find a reverse negative and a correct orientation for all 2011 Bowman Sterling Purple Refractors. From what I’ve seen, the 2011 Bowman Sterling Purple Refractor reverse negatives bring stronger premiums. Since the purple refractors contain a print run of 10 copies, and since it’s uncertain how far into the print run of the 10 copies this error was corrected, it’s unsure how much rarer or more available the error is compared to the correction. This is also why I don’t put the print run in the image title. The version is stated next to the card number. Since the error would have been made previous to the correction, I state it as version A and the correction as version B.
