1998 SPx Finite is a 360-card set released in June 1998 and issued in 3-card packs with a per pack price of $5.99. The run features three parallel sets across a mess of subsets with varying print runs among them. Covered here is the 20-card Power Explosion subset (#31-50), which is paralleled down to a print run of 50 making it one of the shortest printed subsets that isn’t a 1/1. These are popular cards for their relative availability and overall presentation value. They feature a holofoil layer that makes them shine like refractors; they’re quite beautiful. Among the Radiance and Spectrum parallels, due to manufacturing problems, cards 40, 41, and 45 were made available via pack-issued exchange cards.
