1998-99 E-X Century is a 90-card set split between 60 veterans and 30 prospects, which mathematically speaking, were slightly tougher to pull at about 1 in every 2 packs. The base set design is holofoil printed on clear plastic while the Essential Credentials parallels feature silver or gold sparkle foil printed on solid plastic of the same color. This set has always been considered premium, but the Essential Credentials parallels drive the high prices of sealed boxes. Cards were issued in 3-card packs that initially retailed for $5.99/ea., but the days of those prices are long behind us.
