1999 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems is a 300-card parallel set of the 1999 Metal Universe base set. These cards were inserted exclusively in hobby packs. What differentiates them from the base set is the holofoil finish and stated print run of just 50 copies, which makes them both beautiful and hard to find. Over the past 15 years, the popularity of the 1999 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems parallels have exploded. Various reasons have accounted for this, but I suspected even as far back as 2010 that it was only a matter of time before the market caught on and here we are. It’s a beautiful set aesthetically and features three subsets that showcase new and veteran favorites. With 300 cards, there’s a lot to collect, and depending on who you collect, you may have to find more than one card of your guy in this set.
I’ve been collecting images of cards from this set for a while. The cards listed in bold in the following checklist are the images I still need to complete the gallery. Once I finish collecting them all, I’ll prepare an image gallery and publish it below the checklist.
